School News

We had a great first week back at school! On Monday in science class, students experimented with wires, batteries, and lightbulbs to learn about circuits. In humanities class we studied American home front and Native American involvement in World War II. Students are finishing up their Holocaust reading response essays and have started reading our new book, A Kid’s Guide to America’s Bill of Rights by Kathleen Krull.
Friday morning we worked hard to finish Biweekly 13. Students elected to stay at the school (rather than walking to and from Unity Park) so they could finish up their work. After lunch and recess at the school, Hattie and the students did a Skills Workshop about coping mechanisms. In the afternoon we wrote Biweekly 14 and did a little bit of project time. It’s been great to spend so much time together in the beautiful weather, and to have parent volunteers hang us with us as well! We’re looking forward to another great week next week!
