School News

In Science on Monday we started our chemistry unit by playing a game about phases of matter. In Humanities we finished up our 20th Century Wars unity with student presentations about Eastern Bloc leaders on Tuesday, and a mega review Kahoot and discussion on Thursday. Next week we’ll start our unit on Government and politics! To compliment this, students are currently reading A Kid’s Guide to America’s Bill of Rights. Unfortunately this book doesn’t have an accompanying audiobook, so students might need extra reading support at home while working through this book. Today, students worked hard to finish their 1900s Creative Writing story: every single student finished their essay, and many are very proud of their work! 🙂
In Mathtivity on Wednesday students folded paper to understand fractions, and in Skills Workshop today we will be discussing sizeism, sexism, and body image. In other social/emotional learning news, this week we went to Unity Park, got ice Ccream, and watched My Neighbor Totoro. Have a great weekend!
