New set up & Pods
The repainting and recarpeting project in one of our classrooms is complete! We’ve also rearranged the two classrooms so that they meet the latest safety requirements. (All desks are facing forward with 6 ft between them, communal materials and spaces have been limited or removed, and extraneous furniture has been put into storage or disposed of.) Take a look at the video below to see for yourself!
Fall plans
Several parents met with the teachers a few weeks ago to discuss their thoughts and feelings about the fall plans, and ways in which they can help support the school. We’re waiting to see if the town will allow some sort of outdoor learning space (event tents and picnic tables?) and if the parents who volunteered to do so can make arrangements to get us the equipment. Another idea that was discussed was having a group hike or outdoor activity on Fridays. We will update the COVID Fall Plans page of our website later this month once we know more of the details.
Book Donations
We’re seeking donations to restock our class sets of novels for this fall’s reading curriculum. If anyone is willing, or knows a friend or family member who would be willing, we’d greatly appreciate donations of 5 copies each of the following books: 1) Bread and Roses, Too by Kathleen Paterson, and 2) A Kid’s Guide to America’s Bill of Rights by Kathleen Krull. Used copies are fine as long as they’re the same editions as the ones linked above. Also, if you set Four Winds School to be your non-profit on Amazon Smile, the school will get a small percentage of every purchase you make. Finally, you can make a monetary donation to Four Winds School by clicking the “Donate” button in the top of this web page. Thanks so much!
