Last Friday Four Winds School took a field trip to Historic Deerfield to learn about textiles. Awesome facilitator Faith Deering taught us all about how linen, cotton, wool, and silk were made in the pre-industrial world. Next Friday we’ll be going to the Tsongas Industrial History Center in Lowell, MA to see how mills changed all that! In addition to seeing the very impressive mechanized looms, we’ll be doing a program called Workers on the Line, which you can learn about here.

At Four Winds School we take field trips every other Friday to learn from experts about our humanities and science curricula. If you’re interested in funding a Field Trip Friday, please take a look at our donation page. Thanks!
